Young at Heart

Do you feel your age?

I thought this question is time appropriate since my 30th birthday is coming in a few days. Well, I may be turning 30 but I don’t feel I’m a day over 25!

It’s funny that when I was on my teenage years, I’ve felt I am more mature than my teenage years. But after I passed 25, I keep forgetting that I am passed 25.

There are a lot of instances I forgot my age and dear hubby never fails to remind me. And it is always tricky when filling out forms. I really think hard remembering, and calculating how old I am.

Great question. I actually did a blog post about this question last birthday: HOW TO BE A BABE AT ANY AGE because I turned 36 and I felt like every one around me was starting to revise their hobbies, interests, clothing and dreams for how they thought someone nearing 40 should be.

At 36 I still feel the same as I did at 18 in many ways, though I am much happier with myself and my choices now. I wouldn’t go backwards for anything, but I’m not about to stay home and take up crocheting either.

    Nice blog by the way.

    Kelly

Thanks Kelly, for this wonderful insight! All I can say, is good for you … for being happy and comfortable with your age! I think that is want I want to achieve too. – Charlotte

I’m 34, emotionally I feel about 18 which is great although physically I often feel much older!!

I am two years older than you are but since I’ve felt mature since I turned 12 (had to take care of baby siblings and all), I don’t feel like I’ll feel older than any age I’ll become. Age is just a number anyway.

Definitely! Age is just a number. 😉 – Charlotte

Haha…..I am 30 and there are times….especially after a particularly bad day with Emma….that I feel like I am 60!

But most times, I just feel like myself. What is 30 supposed to feel like? I mean, I know I have matured since my early 20’s…..I dress different and now that I have a family I have to be more responsible.

This comment really got me thinking. I haven’t changed my wardrobe or my hairstyle for a decade now. I do buy new clothes but they are all the same styles. How funny is that?! – Charlotte

I’m 34.. On a good day, I feel like I just graduated from my college and started a job at 22. On a lousy day, I feel like I’m 30.. But never feel so old. I always say I’m young at heart. I refuse to let number determine how I feel or look (well the later on is harder to control when you work and take care of 2 kids). :)

I know what you mean! I try to beat the physical aspect of age, too. But it is really difficult to control.

Happy Birthday…:-) I’m 30-something and feel just as I should. I tend to always feel younger than I actually am, I think because I was the baby of 4 girls. Thanks for visiting my Aloha!

Thanks for the birthday greeting! I think that’s tricky, that no matter how old you get, 3 other siblings will always treat you ‘young’, which you are! Thanks for dropping by. – Charlotte

I think of myself as still in college!! My kids think I am goofy and I embarrass them. haha

I think you are as young as you feel!!

Like I always say, ‘Age is just a number.’ Thanks for visiting.

No, I’m 52 and it amazes me everytime I think about it. A few weeks ago I visited with a friend that I’ve known since age three. It was my 7 year old grandson that pointed out we has a 50 year long friendship. We just laughed because it sems like yesterday that we were in high school together!

I think a ’50 year long friendship’ is something to celebrate! Congratulations to you and your friend!
You are same age as my mother. And we talk like we are the same age and she likes that!

No, I don’t feel my age, but the number sounds funny in my head!! I’m soon to be 55. Yikes!!

Hey Sher, I always appreciate your comment. You are always funny and refreshing!

I know exactly what you mean. Yipes, I turned 35 this year!!! Scary! I still can’t believe it, but my birth certificate confirms it. I don’t feel much older than 18 some days. And, no one believes me when I tell them my real age…that’s such a good feeling! :)

You must be taking care of yourself really good for others to not see your age. And I think, age comes from within. The way you feel your age is the way others will see it.

I’m 28 and I guess I feel like a 28 year should feel like. I don’t know. I just know that I like myself and am happy.

Good for you! Be yourself and be happy! Thanks for dropping by!

I can say I don’t! I am 28, but sometimes, I feel like I should still call my parents to ask about something! :) I am quickly getting over it!

Our parents will always treat us like we are still young. They will always make us feel young. Thanks for dropping by!

I feel much younger than my age… or should I say I WISH I was much younger. :)

Hope you’ll have a great birthday celebration. Take care!

Thanks for visiting my blog. The photo I posted is a jewelry holder.

Energy wise, I do. However, I think I’m a pretty hip Mom and people usually think I’m much younger than I really am.

I think that’s good that other’s think you are much younger than you are. Let then keep wondering how you do it! – Charlotte
