Blogging, a cup of tea and a toddler – a bad combination for the keyboard!

Our usual scenario is me by the computer blogging, Matthew sitting at the desk where the monitor stands while watching TV and a cup of tea, sometimes. Only this week I’ve realized that all these is a bad combination for the keyboard.

As of this blogging, I’m using the 3rd keyboard of the week!

The first one, the keyboard that originally came with this PC, had the shift key and other keys not working anymore after Matthew accidentally spilled tea on it. I have to dig up our boxes in the basement to find the spare keyboard that came with our old PC that we are not using anymore. Only a day or two of using that 2nd keyboard, Matthew, again, spilled tea on it. I knew it was a matter of time, before some keys will turn sticky, so we bought a new cheap standard keyboard. I was hoping that the 2nd keyboard would last a little bit longer, but it didn’t! Sadly, the number keys are now sticky and some keys are ,as expected, not working anymore. I had no choice but to scrap it too, and install this new keyboard.

To keep this keyboard to work for a long time, I should prevent the three elements together, so I came up with this:

  • blogging + Matthew – tea (or any beverage) = okey
  • blogging + tea (or any beverage) – Matthew = okey
  • Matthew + tea (or any beverage) – blogging = okey or maybe not

Now I’m realizing that, Matthew with any beverage is more often than not, an accident waiting to happen, no matter what or where or when.
